While most of the country has been shivering and digging out from one of the coldest winters in decades, we have enjoyed typical winter desert weather with highs in the low to mid-70's. The overnight lows in the 40's have been brutal for us desert rats, though...
We have been taking advantage of pleasant weather by working in the yard the last couple of weekends. Already we can see some early signs of spring: a small Brittlebush just getting started, some scattered wildflowers. And weeds. LOTS of weeds.
Our mesquite trees have a few new leafy green tips.
It's still only January.
